There are some nicotine and tobacco products which are not reviewed or approved by the FDA. But yet they are used by people as quit smoking aids.
Lozenges containing tobacco and small pouches of tobacco are used by people as ways of acquiring nicotine in places where smoking is not allowed. Oral tobacco products like snuff and chewing tobacco are known to contain human carcinogens. They lead to mouth cancer and gum disease. They also cause teeth to fall out by destroying the bone sockets around the teeth. Research shows that they can have potential harmful effects on the heart and circulation and also increase the risks of developing cancer. They stain the teeth and cause bad breath. These products are not proved to have any effect on Smoking addiction . The FDA has also claimed that these products are not smoking cessation aids.
Electronic cigarettes are refillable cigarettes with a battery and an electronic chip. It looks like a cigarette with a glowing tip. When the smoker takes a puff, the system delivers a mist of liquid, nicotine and flavorings which look like smoke. It is inhaled like cigarette smoke and the nicotine is absorbed into the lungs. Electronic cigarettes are sold with cartridges of nicotine and flavorings. The cartridges vary in doses of nicotine, from high doses to no nicotine at all. There is no evidence that e-cigarettes help to quit smoking. They are in fact known to cause many health hazards. E-cigarettes and nicotine cartridges are toxic and unsafe for children and pets. They also cause choking hazard.
